About Us
The Davidson Consulting Group was founded in 1997 and now serves a national roster of educational, cultural, human service and veterans' organizations. The firm offers a comprehensive array of consulting services in the area of non-profit fundraising and management, including feasibility studies, capital campaigns, annual and athletic giving programs, planned giving, strategic planning, risk management, legal audits, financial management, and board development. The firm's principal and consultants have broad and varied experience in management and development, and work to remain updated on trends in national philanthropy. In addition to its inclusion in the prestigious Association of Philanthropic Counsel, the firm maintains memberships in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the National Committee on Planned Giving, and the Charlotte and North Mecklenburg Chambers of Commerce. Tom NorwoodTom is founder and principal of the Davidson Consulting Group. He has over
twenty years of fund raising experience in church and nonprofit settings and is
a Certified Fund Raising Executive. Previously he served as Director of
Corporate Programs at Davidson College and managed the corporate sector of The
Campaign for Davidson that raised over $160 million for the college. An ordained
Presbyterian minister, Tom holds degrees from Davidson College, Columbia
Theological Seminary and Yale University. He is also the author of two books and
recently completed his career as a KC-10 Instructor Pilot in the USAF Reserve.
Tom is active in a variety of church and civic affairs.

Tom directly. Judy HodgsonJudy has an extensive background in fundraising, strategic communications and
program development, and particular expertise in the area of women's programs.
Prior to joining the Davidson Consulting Group she served as Director of
Institutional Advancement for the National Foundation for the Improvement of
Education and as Vice President, Development and Finance at the National
Partnership for Women and Families (formerly Women's Legal Defense Fund), both
located in Washington, DC. She holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University
of Wisconsin, Madison.

fund raising. Most recently, Anne acted as Grants Officer for the Arts & Science
Council-Charlotte/Mecklenberg, Inc., providing leadership to individuals,
organizations and community volunteers in the distribution of over $7 million in
grants. Before assuming a position in grant-making, Anne served as Associate
Director for the Arts & Science Council's $26 million cultural endowment
campaign; Director of Development and Alumni Relations for the North Carolina
Outward Bound School; and Assistant Director of Alumni Relations at Davidson
College. She is an active volunteer for St. Alban's Episcopal Church and Lake
Norman YMCA, and an active alumna of Davidson College.

Anne directly. Lisa Howe CombsLisa joins Davidson Consulting Group with a background in fundraising and public relations. After graduating from Davidson College, Lisa worked for Phoenix Communications, Ltd. in Charlotte, NC, before joining the development office at Davidson College. While at Davidson, Lisa held positions in the Annual Fund and in the Office of Capital Gifts. Most recently, Lisa directed the highly successful capital campaign for First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte that exceeded its $8 million goal by $4 million. |
